Day 01: Arrival in the Valley of Gods
Location: Manali (6,700 ft)
Your journey begins in the lush forests of Manali. The day is focused on intentional movement to help your body adapt to the thinning air.
- Evening: A sunset acclimatization walk followed by a formal expedition briefing and a warm welcome dinner. 🍲
- Explorer’s Note: Acclimatization is an art. We start low to aim high. 🚶♂️
Day 02: Through the Heart of the Mountain
Route: Manali ➔ Khanjar ➔ Tharang Campsite
Stats: 🚗 140 km Drive | 🥾 5 km Trek | 📈 11,000 ft
We leave the greenery behind, crossing the Atal Tunnel into the rain-shadow region of Lahaul.
- Cultural Stop: Explore the Mrikula Mata Temple, an 11th-century masterpiece of wood-carved legends. 🛕
- The Trail: From Khanjar village, we climb steeply to Doksa before the valley opens into vast, flower-strewn meadows. 🌸
- Campsite: Sleep under the gaze of the Tharang Peak massifs. ⛺
Day 03: The Valley of Silent Stones
Route: Tharang to Zardong

The terrain turns prehistoric. We follow a flat, wide valley floor that feels like the edge of the world. 🌎
- Geology: We navigate the Boulder Zone, a field of massive rocks deposited by ancient ice. Look for the small cave shrine dedicated to the local mountain deity. 🕯️
- Views: Keep your eyes on the Miyar Shivaling, a sharp spire of rock piercing the sky. ⛰️
Day 04: At the Glacier’s Edge
Route: Zardong to Phalphu

Today, we reach the "Snout"—the point where the glacier meets the valley. 🧊

Route: Phalphu to Gompa Campsite

We begin our return, but the beauty doesn't fade. The trek back offers a wide-angle perspective of the valley’s "U-shaped" glacial architecture. 📐
- The Site: Our camp is nestled near a tranquil pond and a shepherd's hut, named after the dome-like Miyar Gompa peak. 🛖
Day 06: Whispers of the Old Monk
Activity: Rest & Exploration (Reserve Day)

A day to breathe, reflect, and listen to the land. 🧘♀️
- The Folklore: Hike to the ruins of an ancient monastery. Local legend tells of a hermit whose presence once blessed this valley. The ruins offer a hauntingly beautiful vantage point over the peaks. 📜
- Purpose: This day ensures we have a safety buffer for weather while allowing your muscles to recover. ☕
Day 07: Farewell to the Wilderness
Route: Gompa ➔ Khanjar ➔ Manali

A gentle morning walk brings us back to the road-head at Khanjar. We board our vehicles and head back through the Chandra-Bhaga valley. 🚐
- Transition: Watch the desert landscape of Lahaul slowly melt back into the pine forests of Kullu. 🌲
- Evening: A final celebratory dinner in Manali to toast to the mountains. 🥂
Day 08: Journey’s End
